I am reaching out to you as a new athletic director. Here within the week three of our 4 scoreclocks on campus have had some major issues. I need help!
1. Our school clock at the middle school: there may be some sort of “short” in something because the buzzer randomly goes off and then the scoreboard will go black or dim, goes off, comes back on , and buzzes again. This happened frequently during the Volleyball match on Monday.
2. Last night at our main gym at the high school both score clocks were not working. While using the main control panel, all lights appeared on on both score clocks. The stats lights came on and could not be turned off. On the West board the scoreboard automatically put a score of 112 to 122 and we could't get rid of it or change anything on it. So this clock was completely unusable. The east board was functionable but the stat board lit up, remained lit up, and we were unable to remove it. In addition, on the Home Side - where player number, fouls, etc is, - where stats are - on that first line the milli-second showed up in that spot. Finally, while the buzzer to the scoreclock worked, when it did go off, it sounded 'sick'.
Here are things we attempted to trouble shoot: We attempted to turn the entire power off from the control panel and all lights came off. We had to do this at least three times. Then the West scoreboard came on and we were unable to change anything on it. We also tried different codes to see if that would help. We then tried selecting different settings. None of these attempts worked. When the game was over, we turned the clocks off and here this morning the clocks were still on. The custodian and I shut the power off to the clocks hoping that would help. We left them off for 2 1/2 hours before attempting again. We turned the power on again here at 8:30 am and once again the stats lights all lit up.
I am reaching out for help! Preferably I would GREATLY appreciate if someone were able to do a maintainence visit. I have ZERO understanding of any of this. Our next middle school home event is Monday, Sept. 21 and our next high school home varsity match is Sept. 28. so I need the clocks fixed before these two dates. Please HELP!
