Here are some troubleshooting steps that can be executed without climbing a ladder.
1. Power cycle the stat panels from the circuit breaker, the digits will swirl a couple times indicating they have power.
2. Plug the statcrew transmitter into power without the serial port connected, zero's will come up on the HOME team side stat panel. The guests panel will remain blank.
3. Double-click the two little arrows for the nevco stat panel software down in the systray and you will get an interface window. Save the attached test file onto the statcrew computer and select it using the "Input Path". This file will guarantee that there are players oncourt and data is present removing any statcrew software settings from the picture.
4. Select the correct COM port from the dropdown menu. You can open device manager and look at your COM ports and unplug the USB to serial adapter and plug it back in to ensure that you have the correct COM port. It will pop in and disappear as you plug and unplug the adapter as shown here. The Tx light on the USB to serial adapter will flash rapidly if it is outputting data:
5. If everything above works properly, then we know the Nevco software and hardware is functioning correctly.
6. Go through the steps shown in our user's manual (attached) in the statcrew software. In volleyball the steps are a little tricky so contact statcrew support if you need help getting oncourt players.
